Madhayam Samajik Sanstha (MSS) is a leading voluntary organization registered under Societies Registration Act – 1860.The organization was established in the year 2004-2005 The organization has been working at the grassroots in Uttar Pradesh with a view of facilitating the under privileged section of the society to plan, implement, monitor and evaluate programme designed by their own growth and development. It has been providing support to the disadvantaged sections of the community by encouraging their active participation in all level so as to develop a self reliant society with a focus on socio-economic empowerment of the community especially women as decision makers in the development process. The organization has been working with different Central/State government departments & agencies for last 3 years in the field of Health & Family Welfare, Education & Vocational training, Environment & Sanitation, Agriculture development, Women empowerment and various other Social welfare programmes with main focus of integrated development of the society.

The main objectives of the organization is to work for the overall development of the deprived and disadvantaged communities irrespective of casts, creed and religion so that they may contribute positively and become part of development process. The organization is committed to strengthen their capabilities to improve the quality of life of the people and enhance their ability that would come from education, access of good health services/practices, Agricultural production and active involvement in productive works. Organization is to develop sustainable self-reliant community through their active participation in all our development efforts.

VISION

The vision of the organization is "attainment of a healthy and self-reliant village community through the process of nurturing integration, unity, peace and harmony, optimum utilization of available resources, institution building with a participatory approach"

MISSION

The mission of the organization is "Long range holistic development by creating a knowledgeable society, provide quality health service, education & vocational skills to get in to self-employment or employment & create more and more job avenues, women empowerment, Agriculture development. Within the above framework, the organization is committed to work towards a synergy of different inputs as being necessary for a people-centered development strategy.

OBJECTIVES

The main objective of the organization is to develop sustainable self-reliant community through their active participation in all our development efforts. The organization is committed to strengthen their capabilities to improve the quality of life of the people and enhance their ability that would come from education, access of good health services/practices, Agricultural production and active involvement in productive works.

Other objectives of the organization is

to work in the field of health, mother and child welfare¸ family welfare, adolescent health & nutrition.

to publicize and implement the programmes formal/ non-formal education, vocational education;

to promote agriculture development efforts such as sodic land reclamation, ravine stabilization, promotion of organic farming, production of HYV seeds of locally produced vegetables, crops & Training of farmers to adopt best practices.

to uplift women and make them self reliant by providing education and involving Income generation activities; and strengthen their groups.

Capacity building of rural people for resource management through their collective action in collaboration with local institutions

to work for conservation of environment;

to work for water supply & sanitation;

to implement various programmes for the welfare of older persons;

to work for the uplift of deprived sections; scheduled caste, scheduled tribe, economically and socially backward sections of the society;

to undertake activities for rehabilitation of handicapped persons, street children

implementation of various programmes supported by various national/international development organizations and Centre/State government;

to promote a true partnership/network between the organizations, departments working in the field of relief and development more effectively.

Activities of the organization in brief

 

The organization is being implemented number of community development activities especially related to communication and advocacy supportive such as literacy & education, health programme, employment and income generation activities since its inception. Some of the major programme carried out during the previous years are given as under:

Mother & Child health programme to ensure health care of pregnant women and lactating mothers and children under 5 years of age group.

HIV/AIDS Awareness generation programme through IEC activities for the general population including high risk groups such as labourers, truckers and sex workers.

Health & Nutrition and Vocational education to the adolescent girls - The organization is being implemented SGSY Scheme for the welfare of adolescent girls with aim to crate awareness on health related issues such as Reproductive Health, Safe Motherhood, Child survival, Importance of immunization, proper nutrition and personal hygiene; to provide life skills training for income generation, so that they can develop as responsible and empowered adult.

Literacy activates along with life enrichment education to the illiterate persons of its geographical coverage areas.

MSS is also being implemented Vocational and Handicraft training programme for socio-economically disadvantaged peoples with special preference to women and adolescent girls.

Besides the above its has conducted number of awareness programmes, workshops and capacity building training programmes:

World AIDS Day celebration by organizing rallies, exhibitions etc.

Drug-De addiction awareness camps

Family planning camps

Awareness programme for disabled persons at village and school levels to instill the confidence so that they may undertake such activities which may make them self reliant.

Environment & Sanitation awareness programmes.
